El Sobrante, CA
Please come and join us on at the MESA Farm, a center for urban agroecology located in El Sobrante, CA to celebrate and offer gratitude to the land after our first season of farming. In recognition that this is also the time of year where many of our cultures across the globe honor the dead with celebrations such as Samhain, Día de los Muertos, All Souls Day, Pitru Paksha etc., we invite you to join in an ancestral feast!
Come dressed as your ancestors, whether this be in the traditional clothing of your lineage or quite literally dressed as your great Uncle Joe. Bring a dish that you know your loved ones on the other side would enjoy or something that once brewed over a fire in your homeland. A communal altar will be made, feel free to bring offerings and photographs. Come with stories, seeds and songs of your peoples. Bring instruments in hand, gardening gloves to tend to the land and dancing shoes to rejoice.
